Someone runs out of a runner, grabs the next box on the shelf, doesn't write it down, and now you've got two kitchens out of forty that drift when the drawer's loaded. First check: the cut and the carcase
The first physical inspection happens straight off the saw or the CNC. Panels are checked against the cut list for size, square and edge quality before anything goes together. A carcase that's a couple of millimetres out of square doesn't fix itself as you build on it. It compounds. Doors sit unevenly, gaps run all over the place, and the install crew inherits a problem they then have to fudge on site. Catch it at the panel and one sheet gets re-cut. Edge quality matters more than people think on melteca and melamine carcases. A chipped or lifting edge looks like nothing in the flat-pack but it's the first thing a moisture issue finds in a scullery or under a sink. The 2-pac colour trap
With 2-pac especially, a batch has to read as one batch across the whole development. Lacquer can shift between spray runs, between different days, between humidity. On a single villa kitchen in Ponsonby nobody compares door A to door Z. On a forty-unit terrace, a buyer in unit 12 stands their door next to their neighbour's at the body corp barbecue and the difference is suddenly your problem.
