Kitchens in Hingaia, Auckland | MTN Kitchens

23+ years in trade · 2,000+ kitchens supplied & installed across Auckland · Laminex NZ fabricator

Hingaia is a straight run down the Southern Motorway from our East Tamaki workshop, so when you choose MTN Kitchens you are dealing with the people who actually build and fit your kitchen - not a showroom that marks up the price and sends your job to a subcontractor.

We make our cabinetry in our own workshop, so you get trade pricing without the showroom markup. As a Laminex NZ fabricator we can spec the same finishes the big group builders use, but built to last and set out the way you actually want to use the space.

Send us your plans or your existing layout and we will have a firm quote back to you within 24 hours, a free 3D design so you can see it before you commit, and once you are ready we install in 5-7 days with our own Site Safe team.

What we do in Hingaia

Adding a scullery and bigger island to open-plan new builds

Most Hingaia homes are built around one big open-plan living space, and the number one request we get here is a proper walk-in scullery plus a larger island for prep and seating. We plan the run so the working kitchen stays tidy behind the scenes while the island does the entertaining.

Replacing builder-grade kitchens in house-and-land homes

A lot of the standalone homes on the peninsula came with spec kitchens - thin benchtops, basic cabinetry and not much storage. We swap these out for engineered stone tops and durable 2-pac or Laminex melteca cabinetry that suits a newer home without the group-builder compromises.

Fitting out new townhouses and terraces

Hingaia's newer townhouse and terrace developments run to tighter galley and L-shaped kitchens. We make every millimetre work with full-height storage, soft-close drawers and integrated appliances so a compact kitchen still feels generous.

Hard-wearing family kitchens

Hingaia is a young-family suburb, so we build for real life - deep pot drawers, double bins, wide fridge cavities and finishes that wipe clean and cope with the school-morning rush for years.

Local context

Hingaia sits on the peninsula between Papakura and Karaka, wrapped by the Pahurehure Inlet, and almost all of it has gone up in the last 10-15 years. What was farmland is now large subdivisions of standalone homes and new townhouse developments, with the growth still going on around Hingaia Peninsula School and out towards Karaka.

The housing here is overwhelmingly modern - brick, linea and weatherboard builds, plenty of house-and-land packages from the group builders, and rows of newer terraces and townhouses. They are good homes, but the kitchens that came with them are often spec-level and built to a price, which is exactly where we come in.

We are barely 20 minutes up the Southern Motorway from Hingaia, so getting to site for measures and installs is easy. Alongside Hingaia we cover Papakura, Karaka, Takanini, Drury, Conifer Grove, Rosehill and the wider South Auckland area.

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Hingaia and the surrounding suburbs?

Yes. Hingaia is an easy run down the Southern Motorway from our East Tamaki workshop, and we cover Papakura, Karaka, Takanini, Drury, Conifer Grove, Rosehill and the whole of Auckland.

Can you work from my new-build plans before the house is finished?

Absolutely. A lot of Hingaia work comes to us as plans rather than an existing kitchen. Send through your drawings and we will do a free 3D design and a firm quote, then time the build and install around your handover or move-in.

How long does a kitchen take?

Once your design and colours are locked in we build in our own workshop and install in 5-7 days. From first quote to finished kitchen is usually a few weeks depending on our schedule and any benchtop templating.

Why are you cheaper than a showroom?

We manufacture in our own East Tamaki workshop and pass on trade pricing, so you are not paying a showroom markup or a subcontractor's margin on top. You deal directly with the people building your kitchen.

What benchtops and finishes can I choose?

As a Laminex NZ fabricator we offer the full range of engineered stone and laminate benchtops, plus 2-pac painted and melteca cabinetry in a wide range of colours and woodgrains. In Hingaia's newer homes, stone tops with a scullery and matte or woodgrain doors are the popular pick.

Do you handle the whole job including install?

Yes. We design, manufacture and install with our own Site Safe team - one point of contact from the first quote to the final fit, including sorting benchtop templating and appliance cut-outs.
